Bylaws

BylawsBylaws are the rules the local PTA unit must follow. They provide structure of the local PTA unit board, information on required meeting dates and other information necessary for the unit to function. Bylaws are adopted and amended by a vote of our PTA members at a general meeting. PTA bylaws may not conflict with the National PTA bylaws or Maryland PTA bylaws.

The bylaws currently have a proposed amendment, to reflect the changes in the Legislative Board for SY2017-18.  The proposed amendment can be viewed by clicking PROPOSED PTA BYLAWS 2018

An electronic copy of the current CES PTA bylaws may be found by clicking here for reference.

Parliamentary procedure is a set of rules for conducting orderly meetings that accomplish goals fairly. Benefits for parliamentary procedure include courtesy, maintenance of order, ability for each member to provide input and more.  For more information on our PTA’s parlimentary procedure, please click here or by browsing to http://www.pta.org/members/content.cfm?ItemNumber=2396
